Full Care Guide:
Cleaning
- Every OJArtisan purchase includes a complimentary polish cloth.
- Regularly clean your jewellery using this cloth to remove oils, dirt, fingerprints, and excess oxidation.
- If your piece is heavily oxidised, we recommend additional polishing compounds as an effective way to clean, restore, and polish your Silver, Gold.
Oxidation
- The oxidized detailing adds character to your piece. Over time, it may evolve, and that's okay. Embrace this change as part of your piece's unique story.
- Avoid excessive polishing on the oxidized areas to preserve the intentional darkened effect.
Green Finger
- During the initial stages of wearing your new piece, in some cases, the silver might react with the natural oils in your skin resulting in a temporary greenish tint on your finger. Don’t worry! This is a normal reaction and tends to happen particularly during the first few wears.
- Note that if you wear rings over skin that is damp or wet, you may increase the likelihood of ending up with a noticeable green tint.
Harsh Chemicals
- Your ring is tough, but not invincible. Keep your ring away from harsh chemicals including household cleaners, perfumes, skin products, and hairsprays, as they can damage the silver and affect the oxidized detailing.
Durabililty
- While gold and sterling silver is durable, it can scratch and bend. Be mindful when wearing your piece to avoid contact with hard surfaces.
- Exercise caution during activities that could impact your ring's shape, such as with handheld tools or heavy weights.
Swimming
- Absolutely! Your rugged ring is built for adventure but trust your instincts.
- While the occasional dip won't harm your ring, prolonged exposure to saltwater and chlorine can affect its finish. After a swim, rinse with fresh water and pat dry.
- Avoid hot tubs and spa baths. The combination of heat and chemicals may speed up wear and tear.
Stone Pieces
- Periodically inspect your ring for loose stones or any signs of wear.
- When cleaning, submerging your ring with warm (not hot) water and a mild dish detergent is generally the safest option. A toothpick or soft brush may be used to gently remove dirt or grime lodged in the setting. Gently dry, and polish your jewellery with our complimentary polishing cloth.
Storage
- When not adorning your finger, store your jewellery in a safe and dry place, ideally in a tarnish-resistant pouch or box with anti-tarnish lining to ensure your pieces stand the test of time.
